Task force announces Iron Range drug busts

The Boundary Waters Drug Task Force announced Monday that nine people have been charged in State District Court in Hibbing and Virginia with a variety of drug offenses after investigations in northern St. Louis County the past month.

Ashley Marie Hansen, 27, and Ryan Jeffery Shoen, 25, both of Chisholm are charged with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), one felony count of exposing a child to methamphetamine paraphernalia and one petty misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. The Chisholm Police Department assisted the task force with the investigation.

Timson Ray Carrier Jr., 27, of Eveleth, is charged with two felony counts of second-degree sale of a controlled substance (heroin) in a park zone and three felony counts of sale of a controlled substance.

Ricky Leroy Knaffla, 56, of Iron, is charged with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and one gross misdemeanor count of driving after cancellation, as a result of a traffic stop conducted by a St. Louis County Sheriff’s deputy.

Bradley Keith Smith, 21, of Aurora, is charged with one felony count of third-degree sales of a controlled substance (heroin).

Zeb David Pickar, 34, of Eveleth, is charged with one felony count of third-degree sales of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Bart John Ziebarth, 33, of Keewatin, is charged with two felony counts of second-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and fourth-degree possession of a controlled substance (prescription medications) as a result of a traffic stop conducted by a St. Louis County Sheriff’s deputy.

Alicia Nicole Cooper, 19, of Virginia, is charged with one felony count of third-degree sale of a controlled substance (heroin).

Jonathan Robert Morin, 19, of Mountain Iron, is charged with two felony counts of fifth-degree sale of a controlled substance (marijuana) and fifth-degree possession of marijuana.
